Tuesday Tips: Why You Shouldn’t Buy Third Party Supplies for Your Printers

Why You Shouldn’t Buy Third Party Supplies for Your Printers

Using multifunction printers in the workplace makes business easier and more efficient. However, if you’ve ever had to refill the cartridges of these desktop printers, you’ve realized that the ink used to drive these machines is expensive. Many owners have attempted to use third party ink and supplies for their small business printers in order to combat this expense, and have perhaps found some success. However, more often than not, using third party supplies for your printer is a terrible idea, and could end up costing you more in repairs than you’d have originally spent on brand name ink supplies. A few of the reasons why third party supplies are something to avoid include:

  • They’re not as securely designed, which could lead to them leaking inside of your printer, necessitating costly repairs.
  • You might receive the cartridge only to find that it doesn’t really fit your machine, leaving you with a useless item on your hands and a lack of usable ink.
  • Malfunctioning or cheaply-made cartridges can damage your printer to a point that’s well beyond repair, leaving you in need of an entirely new printer.

These issues can wind up costing you far more money in repairs to your multifunction printer than buying a brand-name cartridge. Keep your printer safe and go with an approved, well-known brand each and every time.
